For Parents and Caretakers

With Mixing in Math (MiM), you can take care of everyday chores, have fun with your kids, and involve kids in doing math at the same time.

For instance, children who do the Mixing in Math activity Take Ten combine cleaning up and counting. With Fair Shares, kids divide up treats using arithmetic to make sure everyone gets an equal amount. Children who play I Spy Shapes or Name Game work with shapes, patterns, and problem-solving.

To find a game or activity that is right for your family, look over the activities on this site. Check the level of difficulty and the group size. Most of the activities are geared for the elementary grades. Feel free to adapt activities to suit your family's needs and interests. It is easy to use and change the activities—no special background is needed. Click here to download the gameboard with instructions developed for Guess My Number and Name Game.
